A leading CPG brand aimed to optimize in-store strategies for their softener products to enhance shopper engagement and increase conversion rates. They needed a data-driven approach to identify the most effective product placements and promotional tactics.

THE EXECUTION

The brand integrated the Mediar Shopper Behavior Lab, a cutting-edge platform designed to deliver immediate, actionable insights. By leveraging advanced computer vision technology, the Lab continuously tracked shopper movements and interactions in real time. The system analyzed data from key store areas like floor displays, endcaps, and standard shelf locations to understand shopper behavior patterns. This data was then processed through predictive analytics models to forecast conversion probabilities, allowing the brand to pinpoint the most effective product placements and promotional strategies. The flexibility of the platform enabled them to seamlessly implement and adjust strategies, including real-time A/B testing and dynamic pricing adjustments, ensuring that marketing efforts were always aligned with current shopper behavior.

THE OUTCOME

The insights revealed that the fl soor display attracted 86.8% of shoppers, while the endcap drew 72.9%. These high-traffic areas also saw significant consumer interaction, with 39.6% on the floor display and 34.6% at the standard shelf location, indicating deeper engagement. The conversion rates were highest at the floor display (8.4%) and the endcap (7.6%), confirming the effectiveness of these locations in driving sales. Notably, the implementation of Mediar’s solution led to a 300% ROI, underscoring its value in providing actionable insights that significantly boosted sales. Going forward, the brand recognized that investing in high-impact spaces like floor displays would continue to be a key strategy in enhancing sales for their softener products.
