Curiosity as a foundation
Renan has built his career on a simple but powerful principle: never stop at the surface. Detail-oriented and naturally analytical, he has consistently pushed beyond the obvious to find the insight that actually matters.
His path into the world of data began, perhaps unexpectedly, with a degree of apprehension. When he joined Kantar, he was entering an environment defined by dashboards, analytics, and complex reporting , none of which felt immediately familiar. Rather than stepping back, he leaned into the challenge. Over time, he developed a genuine command of data analysis and reporting, and what once felt intimidating became one of his greatest professional strengths. That willingness to embrace discomfort in pursuit of growth has remained a defining characteristic throughout his career.
A career shaped by breadth and depth
Renan’s professional trajectory spans a wide range of industries and commercial contexts, giving him a perspective that is both broad and substantive.
With deep experience across FMCG and beverages , and more recent work in retail, fuel distribution, and the paints segment through his time with BASF’s Suvinil brand , he has consistently demonstrated the ability to adapt his approach to new environments and extract meaningful insight from complex market dynamics. Each industry brought its own set of challenges; each client, a different set of priorities. Across all of them, Renan’s methodology remained consistent: understand the problem thoroughly before proposing a solution.
Where analysis meets empathy
One of Renan’s most distinctive qualities is his understanding that data, on its own, is never enough.
Having experienced firsthand the challenge of interpreting complex information early in his career, he developed a strong belief in the importance of empathy in commercial and analytical work. What is clear to a specialist is not always clear to a client. The gap between those two perspectives is precisely where the most important work happens , and where Renan consistently adds value.
His approach is fundamentally collaborative. The goal is not simply to deliver an analysis, but to work alongside clients to interpret findings, simplify what is complex, and build actionable strategies together. Having followed the evolution of AI across multiple industries, he recognised in Mediar something that is still relatively rare: a company where cutting-edge technology is not an aspiration, but an operational reality. Outside the office
Renan is someone for whom curiosity does not switch off at the end of the working day. He follows developments in AI and emerging technologies closely , not as an obligation, but out of genuine interest in understanding where different industries are heading.
Away from work, he recharges through Pilates, travel, and the perhaps unexpected hobby of embroidery. He is also a firm believer in the value of experiencing different cultures, which he credits as a source of ongoing personal and professional enrichment.
